Ageing is 'Growing'

Ageing is as inevitable as the sun rising each day. It is part of living. It happens every second, every minute, every hour, 24/7, 365 days a year. One can feel it with each passing day- in the bones, in the hair, in the eyes...in the spirit. Ageing affects a person whole-ly or totally. Every figment of our being is affected- the physical, the emotional, the psychological, the spiritual. As a child we would have called this 'growing' - into the teen years, adolescence and then adulthood. Once you hit 60 or for the young at heart 65, it is called ageing.
Depending on how one looks at it, ageing can be good, natural and fulfilling or it can be about sadness, loneliness and bereavement. In actual fact, ageing is about choices that we make and what we make of the growing years. How we age is how we choose to it to be. We have to start planning for old age as soon as possible- building a meaningful social network, partaking and living life to the fullest, looking after or physical and mentl health are but some of the things we have to look after.
